Okay, I know that this is complaining about something for safety, but it still pisses me off. As many of you know I travel a lot for work. So I am traveling this week, shock. Anyway when I left I tried really hard to get four days into a carry on bag. Well now the fact that I can not carry on so many different things… well the bag is checked. I know that this issue is a small concern, but it makes traveling more draining now.
It used to be when traveling like this I could literally walk on and off planes without having to stop and wait for luggage. Or get to the airport really early for luggage check in. Now I figure it is going to add an hour to travel time for each destination. That just plain sucks. I just think it is getting crazy with the amount of restrictions that are being placed on travel now. I understand the need for safety, but at some point we are losing the “war on terror” cause the citizen’s freedoms are being impugned.
So now when I have red-eye flights and want to brush my teeth after napping, well that is not going to be possible. If I want to take out my contacts that is going to be questionable as to what I can bring with me. I had to get a supervisor today to be able to bring through a 4oz bottle of saline solution, a 1oz bottle of re-wetting drops, and my contact case. So now when traveling I am expecting to have to go through that each time cause I do not plan on not carrying my contact stuff with me, too many lost bags.
This comes on top of a fricking flight from hell on Monday into Wednesday on United trying to get to Nashville. I figured out it would have been faster to drive. Time for a poison pen letter.
