Another blog post written at 32,000 feet as that is when the issue hit me. I have various electronic devices as my dedicated reader knows. I have previously talked about various data access connection challenges. This new challenge is not one of my own doing. It is a poor user experience or use case definition. This problem was illustrated by Amazon and their Kindle applications, but it does not apply to just them. This challenge happens to many applications beyond this example.

I recently read an article on Wired.com (http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/02/sony-lawsuit-factory/) that Sony is suing to stop people from posting instructions on how to modify a PlayStation 3 to be able to play additional games. By additional games I do not mean just pirated games, but also home brew games. I value intellectual property and keeping piracy down, but also think that stifling the ability to use hardware as you see fit is a bad thing.

It has been interesting to see how language has changed in just the past ten years. To me it appears that the usage of the English language has changed to be much more phonetically driven than textually driven. 2010 Photography Workflow

Hello dear reader. It has been a while since I had more than 140 characters’ worth of time to write recently. This statement is not a complaint it is a fact. The reason for this situation is that I have been working on my photo processing skills of photos I have taken.

When I say “Thousands of Images” it is not hyperbole. My faithful reader will remember that about at the first of the year I started going through my images since 2000. This undertaking has taken much longer than I expected. I have just reached the point of having enough duplicates removed that I can start reviewing [more]

This past week, another chink occurred in my experience with Apple and Macintosh as the premium solution. I am not sure that I am the only one having these issues with the system “that just works”. In my case it did not “just work” and I don’t think my questions and ideas were that hard [more]

I know I have been not posting a whole bunch recently, mainly cause I have been fairly busy with work. Pretty sure given the current state of the economy, that is a pretty good thing. This post will probably be a winding one with lots of little thoughts in it. I am writing it while [more]

Still updating Mac after Snow Leopard

So as my faithful reader will remember on  Sunday, September 6th, 2009 I started the process of updating to Snow Leopard. There are some things I still am not done with yet; so much for everything be easier on a Mac. Somethings are actually easier on Windows XP. Really. Let me explain a little. I [more]

Some times numbers don't do something justice

So I use SmugMug to host my photos as they have some really cool features and people there. I also started following a few of them on Twitter, and there was a tweet that just made my head hurt, so I sat down to do the math on it. Okay, I also used Wolfram Alpha [more]
